Good luck on that beast. I took it two the general GRE along with a subject test two years ago. Kudos to you for investing time and effort into it. The best resources I found were three-fold: used GRE books at the DI, (Barron for vocab, GRE for Dummies for clearly reviewing concepts on the math side, and Kaplan challenging questions) flashcards of my own design, and anything I could find from ETS, most importantly a discontinued CD with two full practice tests.

My scores weren't very consistent between actual tests and practice tests but definitely improved over time. What Kaplan teaches strategy-wise really helped me as well, especially in regards to taking more time on the first questions. I'm not sure how much has evolved since the 2011 test changes despite taking the experimental precursors so I hope I'm not spouting off irrelevant information.

Again, good luck.

Sorry my generation has forced your generation into studying for the GRE, GMAT, SAT, etc. When I took those tests our guidance counselors said they were supposed to test the ability to think rather than specific facts, so studying for the tests was not possible. I suspect someone in my generation, under the guise of "enhancing shareholder value," convinced the admissions officers and graduate review boards that applicants "had to study" for the tests, not to improve the quality of education but to improve the profits of test prep companies. I wonder if Bain invested in Kaplan?
