So I Made a YouTube Video….

Tuesday, January 3, 2012 9 Permalink 0

Yes, I did.

I made this at the request of someone who is working on a project about homosexuality and Mormonism and approached me to tell my coming out story in an “It’s Gets Better” type of YouTube video.

My goal was to keep this under the 5 minute mark, but it ended up being just over 6 minutes. I’m ok with that.

As always, I’m happy to share my story and sincerely hope that the things I’ve learned through my experience can help in a small way to change hearts and minds. There is too much unnecessary sadness and unnecessary suffering around this issue. Let’s change that.

Let’s oft, then, in kindly toned voices,
Our mutual friendship renew,
Till heart meets with heart and rejoices
In friendship that ever is true.

Oh, the kind words we give shall in memory live
And sunshine forever impart.
Let us oft speak kind words to each other;
Kind words are sweet tones of the heart.

    I listened to this last week. You are as articulate as ever. I also attended church yesterday with my family. There are things about the church that I still enjoy, like Sunday School because we have a fantastic gospel doctrine teacher. Unfortunately we are studying the BofM this year, which I no longer hold in high esteem.

    Anyway, keep doing what you’re doing.

    I to take from my Mormon heritage the desire for truth, the search for truth. I to have that ever pressing need to know. Not just to know but to understand and incorporate that truth into who I am. Constantly growing, constantly becoming better. That is my an enduring concept I still am guided by. Thank you for your video!

    I am sure this will be helpful to other who are struggling with the same issue. You show a real strength to be able to share such a personal story. I know you are strong and doing OK. But never forget you are a good person! Many people love you for who you are!
    Keep doing what you are doing Seth!!
