New Fashion Statement- Bowties!

by J. Seth (I go by Seth) Anderson
untied bowtie

Like all good Mormon boys, I learned how to tie a tie before I was 12. My dad taught me how to do it over the phone one Sunday because I had to pass the sacrament in church but he was out of town that day and couldn’t tie it for me. Ties are easy, bow-ties on the other hand never made sense to me. Until now.

As part of my new philosophy of wearing mostly vintage clothing, I have adopted fashions from decades past, including bow-ties, suspenders, and fedoras.

I’m all about bow-ties now and this new found fascination has opened a new world for me, a secret underground of bow-tie lovers. I have declared my total commitnemnt to bow-ties with this self-portrait that was posted on Facebook.

This is not a clip-on, as that is cheating. I had to actually learn how to tie it. Thanks to the modern miracle of YouTube and a few shots of whiskey I mastered the art. This YouTube clip sums up my feelings regarding bow-ties.

Looking good! I love bowties and I actually have 3 myself. You should consider wearing a short sleeve cardigan with your bowtie. That would be really hot!

HI, I’m kind of a person who usually see the essence of each person where they will not let me judge them that’s good for me, makes me feel good. And every time I see you understand and analyze its essence is wonderful, congratulations and thank you!
